Community Leadership Project
 24th October 2011  |  Views: 42187

The Andalus Youth Development Officer (Kemal Okan) recently completed a year long Community Leadership Project (CLP) which aimed to develop a new generation of role models and leader's from Scotland's black and minority ethnic (BME) communities. Through engaging with Scotland's outdoor environment, the participants developed their skills and competence in working with community groups and at the same time learning more about protecting the natural environment.

The year long programme included outdoor activities at National Nature Reserves, National Parks, woodlands and other designated natural sites across Scotland. Participants also developed and delivered an environmental project with their peers, community and local environmental organisations. Additionally, the programme linked global issues such as climate change and sustainability to local action.

Andalus would like to thank Pammy Johal (Backbone) and all those

involved in the course. The following video highlights some of the

community projects associated with the CLP.
